Crowns & Bridges

Unlike other removable devices, both crowns and bridges are permanently fixed in your mouth. When you have missing, damaged or decayed teeth, crowns and bridges ― made of ceramic or zirconia ― are attractive substitutes. At Wells W. Wagner DDS Family Dental, you have multiple options for both crowns and bridges, and a team of experienced dental professionals excited to help restore your smile.

You Want Your Smile Back

Maybe you’ve considered dentures, but you don’t like the idea of removing and cleaning them every day. You’d rather have a permanent solution to the gaps in your smile. You want to look in the mirror with confidence ― you don’t want to have to think twice about your teeth when you get ready in the morning. In that case, either crowns or bridges are the solution you’re looking for.

When Is a Crown Right for You?

Crowns are typically recommended when you have a tooth that is fractured and no longer strong enough to function without further damage. If you had a major cavity in a tooth, there may not be enough left to put in a filling. In this case, a crown can cover the remaining tooth piece. Crowns also are used to cover implants or permanently discolored teeth, or to protect a tooth that has had a root canal.

Crowns can be made of ceramic or zirconia, and the shade can be matched so it blends perfectly with your surrounding teeth. Zirconia crowns are as hard as metal alloy, and are a favorite of our patients.

Get a Bridge That Fits in West Jordan, Utah

Bridges are ideal for filling in gaps when one or more natural teeth are missing. If these gaps are left open, the natural teeth on either side will most likely shift, resulting in a bad bite that takes a toll on your teeth and may make it difficult to keep them clean.

Bridges also usually are made of porcelain or ceramic and matched to the color of your surrounding natural teeth. Bridges are anchored and cemented in place so you never have to worry about gaps in your smile again.
